Itinerary
We meet at Malta International Airport at 7.30am for our Turkish Airlines flight to Seoul. The flight leaves at 10.40am and arrives in Istanbul at 2.10pm. Our next flight departs at 4.50pm and we arrive in Seoul at 8.35am (Friday). Upon arrival, we are transferred to the city where we travel along the Bugak Skyway to enjoy panoramic views of downtown Seoul. We also see Cheonggyecheon Stream, which runs for 11 km through the city. Then, we visit a traditional market where we can have lunch (extra). Later, we are transferred to our hotel – Seoul Garden Hotel (or similar) and we check in. We have some free time in the afternoon, and later we enjoy dinner at the hotel (included).
After breakfast, we start our full-day Seoul city tour. We visit the Jamsil District, where we see the Lotte Tower - the sixth-tallest building in the world at 555 metres. Here, we ascend to the observation deck to enjoy breath-taking views of the city. Afterwards, we take a stroll along the tree-lined Seokchon Lake. Next, we travel to the Gangnam District where we visit the COEX Starfield mall and see the impressive modern library within the building. We also visit the Bongeunsa Buddhist temple and walk down Rodeo Street - an area known for its high-end shops. Finally, we wind down with a cruise on the Han River. In the evening, we can enjoy dinner at Ashley buffet restaurant or similar (included).
We start the day with breakfast at the hotel, then travel to Seoul airport for our flight to Jeju Island. Upon arrival in Jeju, we begin our sightseeing trip. We stop at Yongduam Rock, which is a 10-metre tall stone that looks like a dragon’s head, and visit the O’Sulloc Tea Museum, where we can learn about Korean tea culture and production. Later, we travel along the Mysterious Road, which creates a fascinating optical illusion where vehicles appear to roll uphill against gravity. We then visit the Jeju Stone Park, a museum with impressive stone structures, as well as Jusangjeolli Cliffs, where towering hexagonal lava columns rise sharply from the sea, formed long ago by volcanic eruptions and shaped by crashing waves. We end the day with dinner at a local restaurant (included). Overnight at Gloucester Jeju (or similar).
After breakfast, we enjoy another packed day in Jeju. We visit Seongsan Ilchulbong (Sunrise Peak), UNESCO World Heritage site famous for its dramatic 180-meter high crater formed by underwater eruptions 5,000 years ago. We explore Ilchulbong Park, where scenic walking paths wind around the base of the crater, and venture into the lava cave to admire the towering lava columns and dramatic rock formations. Later, we visit Seongup Folk Village, where preserved thatched-roof homes and stone walls offer a glimpse into Jeju’s traditional way of life and cultural heritage. We continue to Seopjikoji, where we can enjoy sweeping ocean views, and then stop at Cheonjeyeon Waterfall, where crystal-clear water cascades through lush forested surroundings across three scenic tiers. In the evening, we can enjoy dinner at a local restaurant (included).
After breakfast, we are transferred to the airport for our flight to Busan - a large port city in South Korea. Upon arrival, we have a panoramic tour of the city, during which we visit Yongdusan Park and its 120-meter-high Busan Tower, and the Headong Yonggungsa Temple - a stunning seaside temple dramatically set on rocky cliffs. We also walk the Oryukdo Trail, where elevated walkways and cliffside paths offer panoramic views of the sea and the iconic Oryukdo Islets. Later, we visit the Busan UN Memorial Cemetery, the only United Nations cemetery in the world, honoring the soldiers from the Korean War. In the evening, we enjoy dinner at a local restaurant (included). Overnight at Busan Crown Harbour Hotel (or similar).
After breakfast, we make our way to Gamcheon Culture village known for its layered streets, labyrinth-like alleys, and brightly painted houses. We then visit Songdo Central park and take a cable car to glide over the beach for breathtaking views of the coastline. Afterwards, we explore the bustling Jagalchi Market, a seafood haven offering a glimpse into Busan’s maritime culture. We also visit BIFF Square, a lively area celebrating the Busan International Film Festival with handprints of famous Korean actors, and wander through Gukje Market, where you can try the street food. Later, we head to Haeundae Beach and enjoy some free time. In the evening, we have dinner at a local restaurant (included).
After breakfast, we check out of our hotel in Busan and travel to the coastal city of Gyeongju. We visit Bulguska Temple, home to six national treasures of South Korea, including the famous stone pagodas - Dabotap and Seokgatap. We then head to Seokguram Grotto, where a beautifully carved stone Buddha sits inside a serene cave overlooking the sea. Next, we visit Cheomseongdae Observatory, one of the oldest surviving astronomical observatories in Asia, surrounded by the peaceful Bell Garden. Finally, we stroll through the Gyeongju Artist’s Village, where local artisans showcase traditional crafts and artworks, offering a glimpse into the city’s creative culture. We have dinner at a local restaurant (included). Overnight at the Commodore Hotel in Gyeongju (or similar).
After breakfast, we visit Tumuli Park, where grassy burial mounds of Silla kings and nobles rise peacefully amid walking paths. We then explore Gychon Village, a charming area showcasing traditional hanok homes and local crafts. Later, we visit the stunning Donggung Palace and Wolji Pond, which once formed part of the palace complex of ancient Silla. The palace was constructed by order of King Munmu in 674 CE. At sunset, the reflection of the palace in the pond glows beautifully. We end the day with dinner at a local restaurant (included).
After breakfast, we check out of our hotel and make our way to the city of Sokcho. We visit Haeinsa Temple, a serene mountaintop temple famous for housing the Tripitaka Koreana, one of the world’s most complete collections of Buddhist scriptures. Next, we have some fun at the Hapcheon Movie Theme Park, where recreated historical streets and film sets let visitors step into scenes from popular Korean dramas and movies. Finally, we explore Abai Village in Sokcho, a charming coastal village known for its unique North Korean refugee heritage. We have dinner at a local restaurant (included). Overnight at Ramada Sokcho Hotel (or similar).
After breakfast, we make our way back to Seoul, with several beautiful stops along the way. First, we head to Seoraksan National Park, where jagged peaks, lush forests, and cascading waterfalls create some of Korea’s most spectacular natural scenery. We then make a stop at The Garden of Morning Calm, a beautifully landscaped garden showcasing seasonal flowers, tranquil paths, and artistic floral displays. Later, we arrive at Nami Island, famous for its tree-lined avenues, peaceful river views, and iconic seasonal scenery. We have dinner at a local restaurant (included). Overnight in Seoul, staying at Seoul Garden Hotel (or similar).
Breakfast, and we set out on a sightseeing tour of Seoul. We begin at Gyeongbokgung Palace and the nearby National Folk Museum of Korea, where grand Joseon-era architecture and traditional exhibits bring Korea’s royal history and everyday life to vivid life. Next, we stroll through Bukchon Hanok Village, a picturesque neighborhood filled with beautifully preserved hanok houses and scenic alleyways. We then browse Insadong, famous for its antique shops and traditional teahouses. Finally, we head up to Palgakjeong Pavilion, where we can enjoy panoramic views of Seoul’s skyline and surrounding mountains. We have dinner at a local restaurant (included).
After breakfast, we are transferred to Paju, a city near the border with North Korea, located about an hour northwest of Seoul. It serves as the main gateway for DMZ tours. DMZ stands for the Korean Demilitarized Zone, a heavily fortified buffer area that separates North Korea and South Korea. We start our DMZ tour with a sharing shuttle bus, visiting key sites such as Imjingak Park, Dora Observatory, and the Third Infiltration Tunnel. Back in Seoul, we visit the War Memorial of Korea, which honors the sacrifices made during the Korean War. For scenic city views, we ride the N Seoul Tower Cable Car. We end the day at Myeongdong, a vibrant street famous for shopping, street food, and lively nightlife. Dinner at a local restaurant (included).
After breakfast, we step back in time at Korean Folk Village in Yongin, where traditional houses, folk performances, and cultural demonstrations recreate life from Korea’s past. Next, we explore Hwaseong Fortress in Suwon, an impressive UNESCO-listed fortress known for its well-preserved walls and historic gates. Finally, we enjoy the youthful energy of Hongdae, a neighbourhood in Seoul famous for street shopping, indie fashion, live performances, and vibrant nightlife. Dinner at a local restaurant (included).
Breakfast and the rest of the day is free at leisure. Later, we are transferred to the airport for our flight back home. We depart Seoul at 11.20pm and arrive in Istanbul at 5.00am (Friday), followed by the next flight that leaves at 7.40am and arrives in Malta at 9.05am.
